Philosophy Instructor Adjunct We are accepting applications for the Philosophy Instructor Adjunct Applicant Pool at College of the Canyons. Adjunct positions are as needed and do not accrue tenure rights. Roles & Responsibilities Assume leadership roles within the department and institution; participate in committees and governance activities. Collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources. Participate in curriculum and program development. Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community. Participate in ongoing professional development. Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction. Engage and facilitate authentic learning for diverse students. Adapt teaching pedagogy to student knowledge and respond to evidence-based assessment. Integrate technology into learning process, including interactive technologies for campus and online courses. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Qualifications & Minimum Requirements Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Philosophy. OR Master’s in Philosophy. OR Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and master’s degree in Humanities or Religious Studies. OR Equivalency: an official transcript of a master’s degree from an accredited institution and transcripts for at least 24 semester units in the discipline at upper‑division and graduate level, with at least 12 graduate‑level units. Assignment Details Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day or evening) and Saturday classes. Salary starts at $89.24 per hour.
