The commercial and residential services market ranges from janitors to plumbers and represents $8T, which is several times larger than e-commerce. Today, most of the market still operates on phone calls and emails. We are the first to build a clear and transparent commerce infrastructure and we're expanding on this lead. Role You will be SERV's first dedicated Product Engineer for AI products. We have validated the Product Engineer model is superior to scrum in an AI first setting. Your job is to own our next flagship AI product: the AI Merchandising Manager. It's an AI agent that optimizes every storefront in our network the way a great e-commerce merchandiser would. It manages pricing, offers, bundles, and recurring services, and it keeps testing and improving across hundreds of franchise locations. It earns operator trust to until it runs autonomously. You will build this from zero and work directly with the founders and leverage of an agile eight person full stack team. You'll start with proven pieces: live storefronts, real transaction and conversion data, and an existing integration layer. Your job is to turn them into a product that runs the revenue function for service brands. We ship practical, production AI that makes real money for real businesses. We have four hundred unique locations ramping on to the platform and data to prove what works. Responsibilities Build the AI Merchandising Manager end to end. This includes the optimization engine (order value, conversion, recurring revenue), the testing system that learns across many locations, and the operator experience that makes brands trust an AI with their pricing. Meet customers. You'll have direct relationships with corporate and location owner stakeholders. Own the roadmap. You'll decide what matters most, build the business case with the founders, validate it with franchise executives, and ship it. Extend the platform. You'll also contribute to our Agents API (an MCP layer for brand automations), AI discoverability (making our brands show up in ChatGPT, Claude, and search), and AI marketing manager program. Optimize in production. You'll work with real transaction data across hundreds of live locations and iterate until it moves revenue. Requirements Passion for the problems we address and a technical vision for AI solving them. Life is too short! 5+ years building production software, including at least one production AI systems shipped to users A pragmatic view of AI agents. You know where they work, where they don't, and how to design autonomy that operators trust. Experience with optimization or experimentation systems (pricing, testing, recommendations), or strong interest in owning one that directly moves revenue Hands-on experience with MCP, skills and inference infrastructure. Fluency across the stack: modern web (React/TypeScript), APIs, cloud (AWS), and data pipelines, plus AI-assisted development Strong product and business sense. You want to own a product end to end and be judged on revenue impact. Self-direction and creativity. You bring the ideas, not just the execution.
