National Sales Director Rheumatology

Responsibilities Lead US Field Medical Rheumatology team (RADs/RDs and Rheumatology MSLs); oversee RAD/RD/MSL activities aligned to US Medical Strategy Plan. Drive scientific exchange with Thought Leaders/HCPs/access stakeholders within geography for unsolicited product and HEOR questions. Coach/evaluate MSLs' scientific accuracy and compliance with ethical/legal guidelines and local procedures. Assess medical landscape; update knowledge on treatment strategies, products, unmet needs, clinical trials, and competitive environment. Ensure collection and delivery of actionable medical insights to medical and commercial organizations. Provide direction to execution of Field Medical plan; manage matrix engagement. Support CRO and BMS-sponsored clinical trials/studies (including NIR): site identification/assessment, patient recruitment, investigator collaboration, and study/site feasibility recommendations. Ensure Pharmacovigilance documents are understood/applied; alert BMS personnel to identified adverse events. Support MSLs as primary liaison for investigator-sponsored research submissions. Develop/oversee national Field Medical plan; participate in cross-functional Medical Matrix Teams; drive institution/account planning; deliver scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects. Provide internal medical/scientific training and updates; manage and coach team; ensure compliance with laws/regulations and BMS policies. Qualifications & Required Skills MD/PharmD/PhD (Rheumatology experience) or science graduate with relevant pharmaceutical experience; MBA a plus. 8+ years clinical/pharma experience including 6+ years Field Medical leadership/people management/medical planning. Lead national field medical initiatives; account management; cross-functional and matrix leadership in ambiguity; mentoring/coaching; autonomous execution. Deep Rheumatology knowledge; ASMart principles; understanding of HCP/payer/patient needs; pharmacoeconomic principles; US healthcare/pharma industry knowledge; clinical trial design/process knowledge; compliance standards; strong communication.
