Summary As a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges, working with world‑class professionals to develop and test strategies that impact the bottom line. General Responsibilities Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement, providing strategic or tactical recommendations. Perform modeling and analytics to support new product and pricing strategies for various lending products. Support direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts for selected products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel, building targeted insights to inform customer experience design and breakthrough technology concepts. Support credit performance improvements by linking future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, building risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring. Develop problem frameworks, hypotheses, tests, solutions, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and develop a monitoring plan. Collaborate across Capital One with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to drive improvements in quality, volume, service, and profitability. Demonstrate strong analytic orientation and quantitative decision‑making skills, including conceptual thinking complemented by rigorous analytical marketing and credit risk management. Show strong business judgment, leadership, integrity, and a tenacious decision‑making approach. Communicate clearly in writing and orally, influencing stakeholders and building consensus. Maintain a results orientation, focusing on achieving short‑ and long‑term goals in uncertain and fluid environments. Prove a successful track record of thriving in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, dynamic environments; prior consulting experience is a plus. Basic Qualifications At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis. Currently hold or be in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field, with the requirement completed on or before the scheduled start date. A bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field; or an MBA with a quantitative concentration. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering. 1+ years of experience in statistical model building. 1+ years of experience in market research. 1+ years of experience in SQL querying.2+ years of experience in business analysis. 1+ years of experience in consulting. Compensation and Benefits Salary ranges (full‑time, annual) by location: Chicago, IL – $101,100–$115,400; McLean, VA – $111,200–$126,900; New York, NY – $121,300–$138,400; Richmond, VA – $101,100–$115,400. Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonus and/or long‑term incentives. Capital One will consider sponsoring a qualified applicant for employment authorization.
