Your focus will be on the shared platform infrastructure behind content experimentation, event tracking, and app-start fidelity. You will be a part of our Growth Infrastructure team, a horizontal platform team that supports Growth engineering across all of onX's verticals (Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, Fish). This role will serve as a core backend contributor at onX and will report to the Growth Infrastructure Engineering Manager.WHAT YOU'LL DOEssential Job Duties & FunctionsBuild and maintain scalable services supporting Growth Infrastructure initiatives, including content experimentation and event trackingWrite unit, integration, and acceptance testsParticipate in architectural discussions and contribute design proposals for our servicesCollaborate effectively with other engineers, PMs, and cross-functional stakeholders (mobile, BI, marketing)Leverage and extend existing onX services rather than reinventing themProactively identify and use AI workflows that increase velocity while not degrading quality.Participate in an on-call rotation to support backend services after work hoursWHAT YOU’LL BRINGBachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily in API development, is requiredA shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX's Company ValuesPermanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onXAbility to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a BasecampADDED BONUSESThough not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:Experience with Go or similar backend languagesFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as TerraformFamiliarity with a major cloud platform (Google Cloud Platform preferred)Exposure to A/B testing or experimentation platforms (e.g., Eppo)THE ONX EXPERIENCEonX is a distributed company with more than 400 employees across the country. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $130,000 to $153,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description.
