Overview: Bunker is a friendly, unpretentious neighborhood gem tucked away in the heart of the West Loop. Known for our famous smash burgers, crave-able wings, and vibrant outdoor patio, we are a true community staple where good times, great food, and refreshing drinks come together.
We are currently looking for a reliable and team-oriented Line Cook to join our tight-knit Back of House crew. Whether it's a bustling game day or a relaxed afternoon service, you will be instrumental in executing our menu of high-quality, comfort-driven bar food. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a casual yet high-standards environment and is looking for a flexible schedule of 2 to 4 shifts a week.
Responsibilities:
Station Execution: Set up, stock, and execute your station (grill, fry, or pantry) efficiently. Cook our core menu items—including smash burgers, chicken wraps, nachos, and wings—to exact recipes and quality standards.
Quality Control: Ensure all food leaves the kitchen hot, fresh, and consistently plated, even during busy rushes.
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a meticulously clean and organized workspace. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination guidelines.
Prep & Inventory: Assist with daily prep work, monitor inventory levels, and communicate with the Kitchen Manager or lead when ingredients are running low.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with both BOH and FOH staff in a calm, professional manner to ensure seamless service and prompt ticket times.
Opening/Closing: Execute standard opening and closing BOH checklists to ensure the kitchen is set up for success for the next shift.
Qualifications:
Experience: 1+ years of experience as a line cook, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume pub, bar, or casual dining environment.
Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, proficiency with flat tops and fryers, and solid knife skills.
Attitude: Unpretentious, highly reliable, and a team player. You must handle the heat of a busy kitchen with a cool head and a positive attitude.
Flexibility: Availability to work a mix of midday and evening shifts (2–4 shifts per week).
Requirements: Must have a current Chicago Food Handler certificate. Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and safely lift up to 50 lbs. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Responsabilidades:
Ejecución de la Estación: Prepara, abastece y ejecuta tu estación (parrilla, freidora o cuarto frío/despensa) de manera eficiente. Cocina nuestros artículos principales del menú —incluyendo smash burgers, wraps de pollo, nachos y alitas— siguiendo las recetas exactas y los estándares de calidad.
Control de Calidad: Asegúrate de que toda la comida salga de la cocina caliente, fresca y con una presentación consistente, incluso durante los momentos de mayor afluencia.
Mantenimiento de la Cocina: Mantén un espacio de trabajo meticulosamente limpio y organizado. Sigue todas las pautas de seguridad alimentaria, saneamiento y prevención de contaminación cruzada.
Preparación e Inventario: Ayuda con el trabajo de preparación diario, monitorea los niveles de inventario y comunícate con el Gerente de Cocina o el encargado cuando los ingredientes se estén agotando.

Apertura/Cierre: Ejecuta las listas de verificación (checklists) estándar de apertura y cierre de la cocina para asegurar que el espacio esté listo para el éxito en el siguiente turno.
Requisitos:
Experiencia: Más de 1 año de experiencia como cocinero de línea, preferiblemente en un pub, bar o entorno de comida casual de alto volumen y ritmo rápido.
Habilidades: Gran capacidad para realizar múltiples tareas, dominio de planchas y freidoras, y sólidas habilidades con el cuchillo.
Actitud: Sin pretensiones, altamente confiable y un buen compañero de equipo. Debes saber manejar la presión de una cocina ocupada con la cabeza fría y una actitud positiva.
Flexibilidad: Disponibilidad para trabajar en una mezcla de turnos de mediodía y tarde/noche (2–4 turnos por semana).
Requisitos Físicos y Legales: Debe tener un certificado vigente de Manipulador de Alimentos de Chicago (Chicago Food Handler). Capacidad para estar de pie por períodos prolongados, agacharse y levantar con seguridad hasta 50 libras. Ser bilingüe (Español/Inglés) es una gran ventaja.
