Our clinical team spans ten campuses across North Carolina with active investments in linear accelerators, cyber knife, brachytherapy, HDR, radiopharmaceuticals, and proton therapy (coming in 2028). UNC Radiation Oncology is a national leader in quality and safety. Education: We prepare tomorrow’s health care professionals and biomedical researchers from all backgrounds by facilitating learning with innovative and integrated curricula and team oriented interprofessional education to ensure a highly skilled workforce. Radiation Oncology’s educational opportunities include residency programs in radiation oncology and medical physics, certificate programs in radiation therapy and medical dosimetry, and graduate and postdoctoral training in physics, computer science, biomedical engineering, and cancer biology. Position Summary The Department of Radiation Oncology in the School of Medicine at UNC‑Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure or non‑tenure track faculty position (track and rank dependent on qualifications) with a focus on head and neck cancer at our Chapel Hill campus. We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in academic research, including laboratory research, clinical translational research and/or physics‑based research. Proton therapy experience is preferred but not required. Leadership roles in head and neck cancer, proton therapy, and other areas may be available depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates must possess MD degree with subspecialty training in Radiation Oncology and be ABR certified or eligible. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in academic research, including laboratory research, clinical translational research and/or physics‑based research. The candidate’s primary clinical focus will be head and neck cancers. Applicants should have broad clinical abilities and must possess MD degree with subspecialty training in Radiation Oncology and be ABR certified or eligible.
