Our client, a 30+ year old, asset based Third-Party Logistics and Packaging Company, is seeking a Vice President of IT. Their services include warehousing, repackaging, bulk-transferring, cross-docking, drayage, fulfillment and local deliveries within the retailer, apparel, and food industries. They offer over 800,000 sq. feet of warehousing space located near the ports of the Los Angeles, CA and Newark, NJ.

Job Overview: The Vice President of IT is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the technological strategy and innovation of the organization; especially in growth areas like distribution/fulfillment and warehouse management. This Vice President of IT role will ensure the development and management of technology initiatives that align with the company's business objectives. This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and cutting-edge technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and foster innovation across all levels of the organization. This position will manage shared technology services like communications, technical equipment, and ensuring their systems are continuously upgraded and equipped to service customer needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Oversee the optimization of WMS (Deposco) to ensure seamless warehouse operations. Continuously evaluate and upgrade the WMS to meet evolving industry standards and customer requirements.
• Technology Management: Oversee the IT infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, secure, and capable of supporting the company's operations. This includes network management, cybersecurity, software development, and data management.
• Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, ensuring that the company has access to the best tools and services. Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all technology initiatives comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and risk management strategies to safeguard the company's data and technology assets.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record in a 3PL or related industry.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferred experience with Deposco. Strong understanding of software development, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data management.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing technology team. Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Innovative Mindset: Proven ability to drive innovation and lead the adoption of new technologies that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other departments and present complex technological concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience in overseeing large-scale technology implementations and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships with technology vendors and negotiating contracts to ensure the best outcomes for the company.
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards, and experience in implementing compliance and risk management strategies.

Compensation: $190,000-240,000 base salary, health benefits, etc.
