Job Summary As our full-time Vascular Neurologist, you will be integral to the operations of a world‑renowned stroke neurology team at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. You will work in a high‑volume, DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center that has been consistently recognized as the #1 Best Regional Hospital in Chattanooga by U.S. News & World Report for 11 consecutive years and holds a consistent ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a fellowship‑trained vascular neurologist to practice at the forefront of the field. Responsibilities Every day you will contribute to one of the largest and most organized stroke referral networks in the US. Your work will typically involve a 7‑on/7‑off schedule, with the flexibility to focus primarily on the stroke service or to share your expertise between acute stroke and general neurology services, emphasizing both stroke diagnosis and secondary stroke prevention. For those interested, opportunities exist to be involved in the outpatient stroke clinic and to pursue a leadership position within the stroke program. Research and innovation are supported through the Chattanooga Center for Neurologic Research, the Neuroscience Innovation Foundation, and collaboration with CommonSpirit Health’s national neuroscience program. Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a broad spectrum of vascular neurological conditions within a high‑volume practice. Provide expert clinical care as part of a world‑renowned stroke neurology team, enhancing DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center operations. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians specializing in stroke neurology, neuroimaging, neurocritical care, neurointervention, and neurosurgery. Execute acute stroke research, including artificial intelligence, device, stem cell, and other pharmaceutical clinical trials, with excellent clinical research support. Manage inpatient stroke patient care through a shift work schedule, with potential for outpatient stroke clinic involvement. Utilize expertise in shared services between acute stroke and general neurology, with a heavy emphasis on stroke diagnosis and secondary stroke prevention. Participate in academic and growth opportunities, including teaching and/or research at local, regional, or national levels, supported by our strong academic affiliation. Foster strong collaborations on clinical and research protocols nationally through our direct tie to CommonSpirit Health. Qualifications MD or DO degree. Board‑eligible or Board‑certified in Neurology. Completed a vascular neurology fellowship program. Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Tennessee. Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications.
