Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Medical Telemetry License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR Description: Shift: 1900 - 0730 3x12 Nights Floating to other like units may be required if needed Weekend coverage required every other weekend, but may change based on need Patient Diagnoses include higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post heart catheterization. Special procedures involve stepping down from ICU with no ventilators or pressor support. The types of drips we can take include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation. Telemetry monitoring is performed on the unit as well as remotely. The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 6:1. The daily census is 28 patients in the unit. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. All staff must float to other units as requested due to census changes. Staff will only float to units they are qualified for. All competencies must be demonstrated and documented prior to floating. Modules are billable, up to 16 hours, and must be completed pre-start. Time spent on modules will be verified upon starting the contract. Pre-assignment testing and modules are required for all nurses. Travelers are encouraged to report any issues as soon as possible.
