Registered Nurse RN Cardiac Progressive Care

Position Summary Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Progressive Care unit in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult cardiac patients with complex but stable conditions who require close monitoring, advanced assessment, and early intervention. Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor hemodynamic and cardiac status, interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Responsibilities Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. Educate patients and their families on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, discharge plans, and follow-up care, promoting long-term health and successful transitions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention and safety standards, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives. Precept new staff as appropriate, contribute to shared governance and unit-based councils, and help drive best practices in cardiac nursing. Qualifications The ideal candidate is a compassionate and skilled RN with strong critical thinking, excellent communication, and effective time-management skills. Comfortable with cardiac monitoring technology and progressive care-level acuity, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to patient advocacy, cultural sensitivity, collaboration, and eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac environment.
