Tax Supervisor Key Responsibilities & Duties Oversee general ledger accounts, journal entries, and financial closings to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage tax planning, preparation, review, and compliance processes across various tax types. Supervise and guide accounting team members, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines. Collaborate with partners and managers on special projects and ad-hoc assignments. Conduct tax research to address complex issues and provide actionable recommendations. Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and multistate tax returns. Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying improvement opportunities. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations through meticulous review processes. Utilize advanced accounting software to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. Tax Supervisor Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required. CPA certification or active CPA candidacy is essential. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA firm, with 7 years preferred. Proficiency in using CCH Access Suite or similar accounting software is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team and client interactions. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Flexibility to adapt to increased work hours during peak tax seasons.
