Field Service Technician / Diesel Mechanic

Overview Rueter’s Equipment is a family-owned distributor of world-class agriculture and construction equipment such as Case IH, Kubota, Hyundai, JCB, Ashland, and more. The role involves major mechanical work on gas & diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, fuel systems, tune‑ups, and all other phases of ag implement and equipment repair. A CDL is helpful. The successful candidate must have their own tools. Qualifications 7+ years of heavy equipment repair training and experience. Ability to work independently and manage own tools. Valid driver’s license; insurable with company insurance to operate company vehicles. CDL helpful. Desired skills: fuel system maintenance, electrical diagnostics, hydraulic troubleshooting, and quality repair work. Responsibilities Shop‑based repair work on heavy equipment. Occasionally travel to customer locations to service equipment. Perform quality maintenance service work on customer equipment. Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems and recommend effective repairs. Determine parts and supplies required to make repairs and perform quality repair work. Follow proper safety procedures when working under and around equipment. Meet all deadlines and schedules for completion of work. Occasionally operate a forklift to assist in working on heavy equipment, including loading and unloading machinery. Reporting and Record‑Keeping Accurately record information related to work orders, including time, work performed, and materials used, according to company procedures. Work Environment Job operates in both an office and field environment, with exposure to varied weather and uneven surfaces. Requires regular communication with team, standing, walking, hand use, reaching, and lifting at least 25 pounds routinely. Position Type and Hours Full‑time.
