Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Jackson, TN and surrounding areas $15.68 an hour - Immediate Full-time 1st Shift - Part-time - and On-Demand call-in positions available. Paid training (at minimum wage)

Purpose of the Direct Support Professional:

The primary purpose of the Direct Support Professional is to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need support to lead a safe, self-directed life to participate fully in their communities.

To assist individuals with intellectual disabilities (mild to severe) in leading a self-directed life and contribute to the community. To aid in assisting with activities of daily living if needed, and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you, will provide support at home, work, and other community places.

Direct Support Professional Skills:

The job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a very significant one. It is important to have compassion, creativity, and integrity when supporting our individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A DSP will assist a person, with developmental disabilities, to have a meaningful, safe and self-directed life, skills are needed which include the following but are not limited to:

• provide quality care of individuals in their home
• ensure supports and services are person-centered
• provide breakfast | lunch | dinner dietary options for individuals daily
• promote physical health and emotional well-being
• provide responsible and accountable financial management
• maintain confidentiality
• drive individual to doctor's appointments, school, work, and community based activities
• support individual to form new relationships
• maintain existing relationships
• document daily reports electronically

Capitol City Residential Healthcare is currently seeking Direct Support Staff for the following shifts:

Full Time: 7 days on and 7 days off 8am-8pm and every other weekend

Part Time: Saturday & Sunday 8am-8pm | 8pm-8am

On-Demand - call-in daily on the days you can work 8am-8pm, 8pm-8am; 4pm-midnight; and all weekends

Work Location:

Duties:

• Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
• Charting or taking notes for others to review
• Providing companionship and supportive listening
• Reporting changes in the health or status of the client
• Feeding clients
• Maintaining patient's health equipment
• Responding to emergency situations
• Administering medication
• Transporting client to appointments - valid driver's license required
• Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
• Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
• *** Must have a Verifiable Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance. You will also need a dependable vehicle for the 8am-8pm shift.
