Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs day-to-day equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems and completing timely repairs to minimize downtime. This role focuses on identifying root causes of equipment issues, documenting work in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and collaborating closely with maintenance and production teams while consistently following safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance on production and facility equipment, ensuring reliable and safe operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying causes of equipment downtime and implement effective corrective actions.
- Complete timely repairs to restore equipment to service and reduce disruption to operations.
- Work with minimal supervision by staying self-motivated, dependable, punctual, organized, and consistently present for scheduled work duties.
- Submit detailed work orders for each maintenance call into the CMMS, documenting actions taken and parts used for accurate reporting and tracking.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with both maintenance and production employees while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and other departments regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and maintenance needs.
- Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to perform repairs, adjustments, and installations.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), as needed, in a safe and compliant manner to support maintenance tasks.
- Follow company safety standards and procedures at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout practices where applicable.
- Manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing production needs.
- Support preventive maintenance activities to reduce unplanned downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Perform occasional welding tasks when needed to support repairs or fabrication, if qualified.
- Work mandated overtime as needed to meet operational demands and ensure critical equipment remains functional.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment history within the CMMS.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience working as a maintenance technician or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including basic electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems and components used in industrial equipment.
- Solid understanding of pneumatic systems and their operation in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic components.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to proactively work through problems and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in time-sensitive situations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with team members and document work clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Proven computer skills using Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Competence with CMMS or related maintenance management systems for entering and tracking work orders.
- Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools used for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) in a maintenance or industrial environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet the physical and scheduling demands of the position, including mandated overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Welding experience is a plus and may be used for equipment repair or light fabrication.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with maintenance best practices and continuous improvement concepts.
- Comfort working both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.

Work Environment
This role takes place in an industrial or production setting that requires constant standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. You will frequently bend, reach, kneel, and climb while working on equipment, and regularly lift, carry, and push objects weighing up to 50 pounds. On occasion, you may need to lift, carry, or push items over 50 pounds, as well as climb and crawl to access equipment in tight or elevated spaces. The position requires effective oral and written communication, along with the ability to see and hear within normal ranges to safely operate tools, machinery, and powered industrial trucks. Work is performed in a fast-paced environment where adherence to safety standards, proper use of tools and equipment, and physical stamina are essential.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Mountain Top, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
