Sr Data EngineerGenesis10 is currently seeking a Sr Data Engineer for a hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution located in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with on-prem SQL servers and cloud-based Azure data infrastructure, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI, to transform and visualize data within a financial services environment.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouseDeliver data reporting requirements on On-Prem SQL Servers using SSIS and/or other integration processesCode and implement data pipelines in cloud-based data infrastructure in batch and streaming ETL using Azure Data Factory, Spark, Python, and Scala on DatabricksOptimize data ingestion and transformation processes to ensure efficient and scalable data flowsMonitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and index optimizationDevelop and maintain data models, schemas, and data dictionaries for efficient data storage and retrievalPerform data analysis, data profiling, and data cleansing to ensure data quality and accuracyConduct data validation, quality checks, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve data-related issuesDevelop Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations to effectively communicate data insightsCreate and maintain technical documentation related to database structures, schemas, and reporting solutionsStay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and Power BIRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience10+ years of experience in a related fieldSolid experience with database design practices and data warehousing conceptsHands-on experience with On-Prem SQL Servers using SSISExpertise with Azure Data Factory, Spark, Python, and Scala on DatabricksExperience working with Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL DatabasesExperience working with Databricks Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture, and Unity CatalogExperience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizationsExperience with build and deploy tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or JenkinsExperience working on an Agile Development team using tools like Jira and ConfluenceStrong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skillsDesired skills:Experience with API/REST and JSONExperience in Banking and Financial DomainsIndustry certification in Azure, GCP, or AWSFamiliarity with programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or C/C++Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with shell scripting in Bash, Unix, or Windows shellExperience with Power Automate and Power AppsExperience with Collibra Data Lineage and Data Quality ModulesPay range: Up to $78.18 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.Ranked a Top Staffing Firm in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts for six consecutive years, Genesis10 puts thousands of consultants and employees to work across the United States every year in contract, contract-for-hire, and permanent placement roles.
