Associate Patient Care Coordinator Obgyn is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The schedule will be determined by the manager upon hire.Location: 2515 South Road, Fourth Floor, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601Primary Responsibilities:Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful mannerObtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance informationPerform insurance verification on the date of serviceCheck in patients Check out patientsScheduling appointments in an organized and efficient mannerObtain patient signatures for required documentsFile and maintain medical recordsConfirms and schedule appointmentsFollow the Payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelinesPerform referral documentation promptlyPerforms certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointmentsAdhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee PoliciesWork cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goalsComfortable working in high pace environmentAssure the continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systemsProvide effective communication to patient / family team members and other health care professionals as evidenced by documentation, case conferences, communication notes, and evaluationsComply with administrative policies to ensure quality of careDemonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documents and monitoring the fax server, retrieving and / or scanning documents and assigning to the appropriate electronic chartAll employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirementsAbility to travel to other offices if neededCross-train and help in other locations if needed departments if neededPerforms other duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?
