Supplier Quality Engineer - Shelton, CT

Job OverviewThe Supplier Quality Engineer will support the HES Quality and Sourcing teams by qualifying new suppliers, developing existing suppliers, and working with external suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues. This externally focused supplier development role will be a hands-on role and will require up to 50% travel. This individual will be focused on working with at risk suppliers to meet and exceed our supply base requirements. This person will help establish and standardize a supplier quality program and its corresponding metrics, while playing a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and resilience of the sourcing process.#LI-EK1A Day In The LifeWork closely with suppliers to assess quality standards and identify areas for improvement. Ability to build and develop supplier capabilities.Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that the products meet standards. Work with Engineering to define and implement sourcing drawings with critical-to-quality attributes.Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with company requirements. Work with internal quality and sourcing teams to manage supplier corrective action requests (SCAR) to ensure that all supplier quality issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality requirements are clearly defined and communicated to suppliers. Participate in supplier selection and qualification processes to ensure that suppliers can meet quality requirements. Provide technical support to suppliers on quality-related issues. Perform root cause analysis on supplier quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent re-occurrence. Implement and coordinate supplier metrics such as Parts Per Million (PPM) defective, timely supplier problem solving and aging, on-time delivery, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators.
