As an Electrical Test Technician, you will engage in HVAC test operations with a focus on high efficiency. You will perform tasks that contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects, operate and maintain chillers and test setups, and work with electrical equipment including machinery with HVAC operation and refrigerant handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderately complex technical tasks to contribute to engineering projects.

• Operate, inspect, and maintain chillers, test setups, and equipment.

• Work with electrical equipment including 460-3-60 machinery, HVAC operation, refrigerant handling, and EPA certification.

• Calibrate laboratory equipment to measure pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical measurements.

• Select, connect, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.

• Conduct loop calibration and use valves for single/double loop configuration.

• Operate, troubleshoot, and calibrate power management systems, VFDs, boilers, and valves.

• Coach team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and report results/issues to drive resolution.

• Advocate for a safe workspace and champion the company's EHS policy.

• Support lab uptime by reporting instrument failures and enhancing preventive maintenance.

• Collect and report test status, apply and teach measurement techniques, and write test reports.

• Proactively resolve testing hurdles by consulting development and relevant process partners.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 1+ year of experience in electrical work.

• 1+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools, advanced shop mathematics, complex measuring equipment, and precision measuring instruments.

• Experience with live power.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• AS or AAS in related technical field, Technical/Business School Certificate, or Skilled Trades Apprenticeship.

• Proven ability in independently leading and running chillers, reporting results, and expertise in loop tuning and drive test cycle efficiency.

• Technical expertise in HVAC design and components.

• Understanding of closed-loop control systems and loop stability.

• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

• Experience with medium voltage operations, including arc flash and lockout/tagout procedures.

Work Environment

Work in an air-conditioned manufacturing facility. The role requires lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed, and climbing portable ladders. Personal Protection Equipment is required. The position demands good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
