Includes involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance, managing Transportation Supervisors and monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities Supervise associates, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution; oversee drivers to ensure deliveries are made safely, efficiently, and timely, maintaining customer satisfaction. Administer day‑to‑day delivery operations, managing department expenses, calculating driver payroll, reviewing trip and expense reports, and resolving issues. Operate fleet management systems (e.g., RoadNet, ELD) and maintain truck computer systems. Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to optimize operational efficiency. Schedule truck deliveries and routing daily, including backhauls and route adjustments to meet customer needs and maximize profitability; schedule equipment maintenance and rentals as required. Ensure DOT compliance, monitoring driver logs and adherence to DOT regulations. Maintain up‑to‑date driver records, including licenses, medical certifications, tickets, accidents, and other risk data. Promote a culture of safety, enforcing DOT and industry safety standards. Build and develop a high‑performing team, improving retention, accountability, recognition, and leadership development. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. 4–6 years of transportation experience, including in‑depth knowledge of DOT regulations and experience with computerized fleet management systems. Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale transportation networks, fleets, or distribution operations. Experience developing and managing transportation budgets and controlling expenses.
