This role requires deep electrical expertise with strong mechanical aptitude to support high‑speed manufacturing operations. The technician will act as a technical leader on shift, responding to breakdowns, driving preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of production equipment.Location: Baltimore (Elkridge), MD**Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates**Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Systems (Primary Focus) - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems, including:PLC-controlled machineryServo motors and drives, VFDs, Sensors, encoders, relays, and control panels AC/DC motors and motor controlsRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawingsInstall, replace, and program VFDs and electrical components as requiredPerform electrical testing using meters, megohmmeters, and diagnostic toolsEnsure all electrical work complies with NEC, OSHA, and plant safety standardsMaintain, troubleshoot, and optimize LEMO bag‑making machinesRespond quickly to electrical faults impacting LEMO equipment uptimePerform electrical PMs specific to high‑speed converting equipmentSupport machine startups, changeovers, and upgrades related to LEMO systemsExecute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtimePerform root cause analysis on electrical failures and recommend corrective actionsCommunicate machine conditions and repair status clearly to production leadershipDocument all work accurately in the CMMS systemPerform limited mechanical repairs (bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics) as neededAssist with installation and commissioning of new equipmentMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasProvide technical guidance to junior maintenance technicians and operatorsPromote safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) complianceMaintain strong cross‑functional communication with operations and supervisionRequired QualificationsMinimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with a strong electrical focusLEMO Machine Expertise (Required)Hands‑on experience working on LEMO bag‑making machines (required)Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systemsExperience installing and maintaining VFDs and motor control systemsProficient in reading electrical schematics and technical documentationWorking knowledge of CMMS systemsHigh school diploma or GEDPreferred Skills & QualificationsTechnical certification or trade school training (Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field)Experience in plastics manufacturing, converting, or extrusion environmentsStrong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsProficiency with VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and industrial controlsWorking knowledge of CMMS systemsAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearlyPrior senior or lead technician experience preferredStrong safety awareness and adherence to LOTO and OSHA standardsPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, kneel, and climb ladders/platforms regularlyAbility to lift up to 50 poundsWork in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature variation, and moving equipmentParticipation in an on-call rotation as required #J-18808-Ljbffr Advance Polybag Northeast, Inc.
