MRI Technologist

Position Overview Southcoast Health, a not‑for‑profit health system serving southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join the Radiology team at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. The role reports to the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services (or designee) and requires a mix of technical skill, patient care and team collaboration. Responsibilities Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within radiography and MR as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient’s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of MR safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others and be aware of the principles of ALARA. Assist physicians in performing procedures. Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Radiation Therapy and attainment of post‑primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) – OR – successful completion of an accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and attainment of primary certification from the ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Registration with the ARRT, ARMRIT or CAMRT is required. Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19, or be exempt with a medical or personal statement signed upon hire. Schedule & Compensation Hours: 24 hours per week. Shift: Day/Evening shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm or 9:30 am – 6:00 pm) with weekend and holiday rotation. Position is part of Tobey MRI weekend coverage rotation. Salary range: USD 40.31 – 59.79 per hour.
