Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Peds NICU

Medical City Healthcare is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Peds NICU to join our dedicated Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in our NICU and pediatric units, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. You will assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory care plans for critically ill and medically complex infants and children, including the administration of oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, ventilator management, and advanced airway support. Using evidence-based protocols, you will monitor ventilator settings and patient responses, perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, and make timely recommendations for adjustments to optimize ventilation and oxygenation. You will assist with high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, and stabilization of newborns, providing expert respiratory support during emergent situations such as respiratory failure, apnea, and code events. As a PRN therapist, you will work variable shifts based on departmental needs, demonstrating flexibility and reliability while maintaining excellent communication with the care team and with patients’ families. You will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation in the medical record, participating in quality improvement initiatives, maintaining equipment and supplies in a safe and ready state, and adhering to all infection control and patient safety standards. This position requires strong technical proficiency in pediatric and neonatal respiratory modalities, sound clinical judgment, and a calm, compassionate approach in a fast-paced acute care environment.
