POSITION SUMMARY

Quality Improvement Specialist II- Responsible for providing a variety of services in support of agency quality improvement while assisting in compliance with DCFS, DHS, Medicaid, COA and other accreditation and funder standards as applicable. This position is responsible for continuous evaluation and improvement of processes at all levels of care and throughout all departments to ensure a safe and optimal client experience. Will demonstrate leadership skills within the department by assisting with skill development and prioritizing work based on agency needs and meet with key program staff to understand how compliance or lack of compliance impacts client outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory Compliance Analyzes and audits documentation for best practice and for compliance with agency/regulatory/reimbursement standards. Provides recommendations and implementation support when processes and procedures do not support positive outcomes. Promotes ongoing supports of Council on Accreditation (COA), DCFS and Medicaid recertification by assisting with procedure development and data collection; Provides support during Medicaid, DCFS, DHS, COA, and all other external program reviews and remains current on requirements. Oversees the entire process for customer and stakeholder satisfaction surveys and HYFS required surveys. Quality Improvement Implements administrative systems to improve workflow efficiency and monitors projects as needed. Targeted projects for specific programs to include audits, training and workflow redesign as needed. Provides leadership, guidance, and training to departments in implementing performance improvement activities. Establishes and maintains an action plan to improve key performance indicators. Contributes in managing policy updates and renewals. Training and Staff Support Assists with the onboarding process by developing service workflows, training of staff in the utilization of the electronic health record, and in response to quality and compliance concerns as needed. Meet regularly with staff at all levels to understand how compliance or lack of compliance impacts client outcomes. Demonstrate leadership skills within the department to peers by assisting with skill development and prioritizing work based on agency needs. Strategic Planning Act as a bridge between the program staff and leadership and work in collaboration to ensure Hoyleton’s standard of excellence is maintained and improved when needs are identified. Responsible of reporting quality, compliance or risk concerns that impact agency’s decision making and/or department functioning. Assist with developing departmental or program improvement plans when outcomes or key performance indicators are not meeting minimum threshold. Provides support to the Critical Incident Support Team and completes assigned tasks as needed. Define and diagnose problems, identify root cause, generate and prioritize alternative and implement and monitor solutions. Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Possesses the experience, personal qualities and practice skills to work effectively with professionals from a variety of disciplines both internally and externally. Attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills. An ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to problem solve. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree in human service, business or related field required OR a certification in Continuous Quality Improvement. Minimum of two years’ experience performing quality improvement and compliance duties. Six Sigma working knowledge.
