About the Position

Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Medical Technologist Specialty: Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: 1 year License: NCA, ASCP, HEW, or AMT (or registry eligible and must obtain within one year of hire) Certifications: Required certifications as per licensure details Description: Travel Medical Technologist position available. Shift is from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Work schedule is 7 days on, followed by 7 days off. This position is in a 600-bed hospital setting. Unit staff ranges from 55 to 60 professionals. Expectations include performing laboratory testing procedures. Candidates must effectively use laboratory equipment. Quality Control Program evaluation is part of responsibilities. Involvement in laboratory training programs is required. Attendance and punctuality are essential job functions. Patient care and department service must be delivered safely and competently. Professional conduct contributes to high-quality care and operations. Skills must be maintained and enhanced through interdisciplinary collaboration. Participation in continuing education is encouraged. The ideal candidate is responsible, a team player, punctual, and accountable. Candidates should demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and confidentiality. Effective communication is necessary for achieving desired results. The ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands is essential. Direct interaction with the public, physicians, and other staff is a part of the role. Personal responsibility and adherence to policies are expected. Active learning and following instructions are vital for success. Rotating weekends and holidays may be required. There is no on-call duty associated with this position.
