About the Role As a Universal Banker at BankStar, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service and solutions to our valued customers. This dynamic position combines the responsibilities of a traditional teller with those of a personal banker, allowing you to engage with customers on various banking needs and transactions. What Success Looks Like 70% Deposit / 30% CSR Greet and assist customers with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive banking experience. Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, providing accurate information and guidance on products and services offered by the bank. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive engagement and personalized assistance. Assist customers with deposit account opening, closing, and maintenance procedures. Process a wide range of banking transactions including deposits, HSA’s and IRA’s, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments with precision and efficiency. Utilize banking systems and technology to perform transactions accurately and securely, adhering to our established policies and procedures. Handle cash responsibly, balancing drawers and maintaining accurate records of transactions. Identify customers’ financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services, tailored to their goals. Actively promote and cross-sell bank products such as saving accounts, checking accounts, loans, credit cards and investment options. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, maintaining a thorough understanding of banking regulations and best practices. Conduct necessary due diligence for customer transactions, such as verifying identification and adhering to anti-money laundering procedures. Refer customers to specialized bankers for complex inquiries or particular services. Remain vigilant for potential fraud or suspicious activity, promptly escalating concerns to appropriate personnel. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred. Prior experience in banking, customer service, or sales roles is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers and team members. Proficiency in basic computer applications and familiarity with banking software and systems. Detail oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
