Job Title BOH Shift Manager Reports To Assistant Kitchen Manager Supervises Cooks, Prep Cooks, Dishwashers Job Summary Shift Manager at Hi-Pointe Drive-In is responsible for supervising the kitchen of one of St. Louis's best fast casual restaurants and leading a team of high performers who bring enthusiasm. The role requires high accountability, a genuine love for people, and the ability to serve a high volume of burgers. In addition to day‑to‑day shift execution, success is measured by team development, inspiration, and fostering a positive culture. The Shift Manager ensures flawless execution of company recipes and food standards. Job Responsibilities Assist the Kitchen Manager in training and developing the team. Execute shifts flawlessly and independently. Manage BOH labor costs, adjusting staffing for breaks or slow periods. Maintain food cost standards through effective inventory management, ordering, and portion control. Understand and enforce local and state food safety requirements, prioritizing safety with the team. Streamline kitchen processes to maintain fast casual ticket times. Create and maintain a positive culture that motivates staff to perform at their best. Ensure kitchen equipment is safe, inspected, and regularly serviced. Delegate checklists to ensure effective kitchen operation. Test products regularly to verify quality and recipe execution against standards. Communicate company messages to BOH staff regarding product or policy changes. Train and develop team members. Ensure all team members meet restaurant standards for safety and food handling. Adhere to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance. Represent Hi-Pointe with pride. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the manager. Work Environment The culture emphasizes hospitality, people‑first values, and culinary leadership.
