Residential Roofing Superintendent

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Location: This is an on-site, field-based role in Takoma Park, MD, serving residential roofing projects throughout the Washington, D.C. area. This is not an office job. You will be visiting job sites, climbing ladders, inspecting roofs, meeting with customers, and working directly with crews.

Note: Qualified candidates must have strong hands-on roofing experience, including 3+ years of flat roof experience, the ability to inspect roofing jobs, communicate with residential customers, and ensure crews are performing work correctly. A valid driver's license, clean driving record, fluent English communication skills, and the physical ability to climb ladders and access roofs are required. Spanish language skills are a strong plus.

Job Description

• Visit active roofing job sites daily to inspect work, review progress, and ensure crews are following the scope of work
• Debrief with crews in the morning and review the work to be performed
• Ensure work is completed in compliance with OSHA standards, building codes, safety expectations, and company quality standards
• Diagnose roofing issues, identify installation concerns, and help crews resolve problems in the field
• Meet with residential customers to review pre-construction concerns, installation questions, leak issues, and project updates
• Propose and assist in selling appropriate additional work or change orders when needed
• Review flat roof, shingle, slate, gutter, specialty metal, mansard, and carpentry-related roofing work
• Evaluate foreman and crew performance and help ensure field teams are properly trained
• Assist production management with scheduling concerns, job coordination, and field logistics
• Help ensure materials get to the field when needed
• Communicate with customers, vendors, estimators, office staff, and production leadership by phone, email, and in person
• Compile necessary production information for financial review, meetings, and internal updates
• Represent the company professionally with homeowners and field crews

Qualifications

• 3+ years of roofing experience required
• 3+ years of flat roof experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of residential roofing systems, including flat roofs, shingles, slate, specialty metal, built-in gutters, mansard-style roofs, and related carpentry work
• Prior experience inspecting roofing jobs and overseeing crews in the field
• Ability to diagnose roofing issues and communicate solutions clearly
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
• Fluent English communication skills required
• Spanish language skills are a strong plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong time management, communication, and customer service skills
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, access roofs, and work in an active field environment
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
