Radiology Technologist

Overview This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians. Hours and Employment Hours of Operation: M-F, 8am-8pm; Sat/Sun, 8am-4pm Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Compensation and Benefits This position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus Urgent Care offers shift differentials: $2.00 per hour during regular business hours; $4.00 per hour after 5pm and weekends Responsibilities Confirms patient identity, checks in patients, schedules appointments Greets and escorts patients to examination rooms Interprets patient histories and physician instructions Prepares patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile technique Positions patients for radiologic examination Selects exposure factors, takes exposures and processes images Practices radiation protection; produces digitized images Operates diagnostic bone density equipment when applicable Enters medication, laboratory, and radiology orders into the electronic medical record Responds to patient emergencies as needed Maintains and cleans work areas and equipment Performs image-management duties within PACS and NextGen as required Documents patient information for continuity of care Supports clerical and clinical staff as needed Performs other duties within Radiology Technology and/or Clinical Densitometry scope Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology; for Bone Density, graduation from an accredited school of clinical densitometry Credentials/Licensure: Valid CPR certification; ARRT registration; for Bone Density, valid International Society of Clinical Densitometry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire Experience: 1-2 years’ experience Position Requirements: Knowledge of patient care/radiology procedures; radiation protection; medical terminology; computer proficiency; strong communication and teamwork; ability to travel to other sites as needed Physical and Environmental: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, occasional up to 100 lbs; extensive computer use; ability to work in a medical facility with possible exposure to pathogens and bodily fluids Minimum Environmental and Physical Expectations Physical activities include keyboarding, patient handling, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching Exposure to sharps, x-rays, and contagious conditions may occur Our Commitment and Compliance Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the talents each colleague brings We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
