Position: Med/Surg Tele RN

Location: Cleveland, OH

Shift Information

• Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

The Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care to patients in a med/surgical telemetry environment. This position includes potential floating to units J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department (ED) to care for similar patient populations.

Shifts may vary based on the operational needs of the facility. While the facility will do its best to honor the preferred shifts of travelers, rotation may occur if necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty being applied for.
• Must possess a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are required.
• All travelers must be available to work at least every other holiday.

Orientation and Training

During orientation, travelers will be required to complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment, achieving an acceptable score on both. A maximum of two attempts will be provided; failure to pass within these attempts will result in cancellation from the position.

Compliance and Requirements

• All travelers must comply with nicotine-free requirements, where applicable.
• A negative 10-panel drug screen, including nicotine, is required within 12 months of the start date and must be updated annually.
• Background checks and fingerprinting are time-sensitive and must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.

Extensions

Candidates may have the opportunity to extend their contract for a period of 18 months, after which a minimum 6-month break is necessary. This requirement may be waived on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information

Travel candidates who remain with the facility for at least one year, or who return for a subsequent contract within the next calendar year, are required to complete the Annual Nursing Education Hands-On Competency course if they attended the initial orientation in the prior year.

Modules for this training will require approximately 4 hours, with additional time potentially necessary for pre-start training. Annual modules are billable for up to 4 hours, applicable only to those on continuous contracts for a year.
