This opportunity offers a 13-week contract for a Staff Pharmacist working within a Long Term Care (LTC) Mail Order environment. The role requires variable shifts Monday through Sunday, with weekday schedules rotating between 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM, and weekend shifts from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The position is located in Eden Prairie, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately in compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and detect patterns of overuse.
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide detailed counseling to patients on medication use, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offer patient services including smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications for internal or external use, including preparing sterile solutions according to proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory efficiently.
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare team members.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Valid Minnesota Pharmacy license required.
• Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy preferred.
• IV compounding experience is a bonus but not mandatory.
