What You’ll Do:

Draw blood samples from patients across all age groups—including pediatric and geriatric populations—in a safe, skillful, and professional manner.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Verify patient identities by confirming demographic information and obtaining patient signatures after collection, maintaining strict accuracy standards.

Maintain detailed records of patient interactions and specimen collection procedures to support quality assurance.

Provide exceptional customer service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing patient concerns, and creating a trusting environment.

Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies, demonstrating a committed and professional approach at all times.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational needs, support process excellence, and adapt to staffing requirements across multiple locations.

Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment, demonstrating leadership behaviors such as accountability, teamwork, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

1-3 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience, preferably in high-volume or clinical settings.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong communication skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to explain procedures confidently.

Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities efficiently.

Familiarity with medical terminology, patient data entry, and typing accuracy.

Valid state-issued phlebotomy certification (preferred but not mandatory depending on state licensure).

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience working in a Patient Service Center or healthcare facility environment.

Prior training or experience in pediatric and geriatric blood collections.

Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

Additional certifications such as CCMT, CPT, or CLS are beneficial.

Preferred Education & Experience:

A minimum of 1-3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, with a proven track record in specimen collection.

Prior work in a clinical or outpatient setting is highly valued.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) data entry.

Additional Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Certification in phlebotomy preferred; some states require licensure (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington).

Reliable personal transportation to multiple work locations; a clean driving record and valid driver’s license are necessary if applicable.

Flexibility to work varied shifts—including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours—to accommodate staffing needs.

Ability to work in a high-volume setting without compromising accuracy or professionalism.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform blood draws in all patient demographics, and handle clinical requirements safely.
