Job Description

An established organization is seeking an experienced Accountant to support financial reporting and accounting operations. This position is responsible for reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and assisting with accounts payable, purchasing, revenue collection, and financial administration. The Accountant will also support fund accounting, grant and capital project reporting, and annual audit preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank and investment accounts accurately and on schedule each month
• Prepare journal entries and ensure transactions are posted to the appropriate funds and accounts
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, capital asset accounting, grant activity, and capital project reporting
• Research account activity, financial transactions, and variances to ensure accurate reporting
• Support annual external audit preparation and maintain accurate financial information within the accounting system

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 3 years of accounting or finance experience; governmental accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, GAAP, and GASB standards
• Understanding of purchasing, accounts payable, cash management, and revenue collection procedures
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and municipal finance and purchasing regulations
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and specialized accounting or financial software

The base pay for this position is $22.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
