Position OverviewThe Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) is a physician who operates under the guidance of the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Medicine Service (MS) at the Tomah VAMC in Tomah, WI. This role involves both administrative and clinical oversight, with active participation in decisions that enhance the functionality and objectives of the GEC areas. The position includes responsibilities for the Community Living Centers within GEC as well as Home Based Primary Care (HBPC). Professionals in GEC are tasked with inpatient care, managing Home Based Primary Care panels, contributing to graduate medical education, and engaging in scientific research as appropriate. This role will also oversee Geriatric Medicine within the GEC Service Line.
