Job Summary

Kauaʻi Veterans Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) unit in Waimea, Hawaiʻi. This role offers an opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to our long-term residents, contributing to their well-being and quality of life in a supportive island community setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a comprehensive range of nursing duties, including medication administration, patient assessments, care plan development, and meticulous documentation. This position requires strong collaboration with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated and effective patient outcomes, all while embracing the unique environment of Kauaʻi.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in the Long-Term Care unit.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to physician orders.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and observe changes in patient condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Document all patient care activities, observations, and outcomes accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents and their families on health maintenance, disease management, and care procedures.
• Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and comfortable environment for all residents.
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
