Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for night shift coverage. The role entails a focus of 80% on Labor & Delivery and 20% on Mother/Baby/Postpartum care. Experience in postpartum care is required, and weekend rotation/coverage will be discussed during the interview process. The ideal candidate should possess flexibility and minimal requests for time off (RTO).

Job Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Travel Experience: Required; local candidates will not be considered.
COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)
Flu Vaccine: Status unknown

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience, including travel nursing experience.
Preferred previous charge experience.
Experience with community hospitals is required.
Certification in ACLS, AWHONN (Advanced, Beginner, Intermediate), BLS, and FHM is preferred.

Essential Skills

Administration of blood and blood products
Antepartum and postpartum care
Assistance with high-risk deliveries
Understanding of maternal and neonatal care
Experience with various procedures such as amnioinfusion, circumcision, and C-sections
Skill in the management of complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia

Unit Details

Patient Ratios: Day and night ratios are 2 patients per nurse; weekend ratios are also 2 patients per nurse.
Daily Census: 3-5 patients
Number of Beds: 10 beds

Patient Care Details

The unit provides Level III obstetric care, including:

Labor and delivery services, including both scheduled and emergency C-sections
Postpartum care for up to 6 weeks after delivery
Management of high-risk antepartum cases

Additional Information

Orientation includes Day 1: Virtual, Day 2: On-site, and Day 3: On-site.
Up to 2 hours of pre-start modules may be billable, with completion tracked via transcripts.
