Job Title and Location Travel Nurse RN – Ambulatory Care (Sanford, Maine) Duration & Schedule Duration: 12 weeks Hours per week: 40 hours Shift: 8 hours, day shift Employment type: Travel Specialty Ambulatory Care RN Responsibilities Provides patient care based on wound, ostomy and continence nursing guidelines, and applicable standards of care. Serves as a liaison for wound, ostomy and continence care concerns. Provides education to team members and participates in assigned committees. Assesses the physical, psychological, and social needs of assigned patients, and initiates data collection and assessment on assigned patients. Contributes to development of the plan of care for each assigned patient, using appropriate resources in collaboration with interdisciplinary care team. Initiates and implements nursing interventions, medical orders, and other related therapies. Collaborates with healthcare team to educate patient and support system. Analyzes, modifies, and implements strategies to progress the patient through their plan of care. Documents a patient record that is reflective of all patient care provided and the patient's response to the care given in accordance with professional standards. Monitors equipment and performs routine and complex treatments including ostomy care, wound care with draining of wounds and fistulas, percutaneous tubes and fecal and urinary incontinence care. Complies with mandatory reporting, legal consent, transfer protocols, and other requirements that preserve patient rights and ensure appropriateness of care. Provides a clean, safe, and secure environment for patients and others by following safety policies and procedures. May handle biomedical, pharmaceutical, hazardous and universal wastes per regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards. Understands and, if assigned, demonstrates the ability to safely handle hazardous drugs, which may include receipt, storage, compound, repackaging, dispensing, transporting and/or disposing of hazardous drugs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
