Pediatric Hospitalist

Join Hartford HealthCare as a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist and Newborn Nursery physician at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. In this role, you will provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric and newborn care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and supporting medical students through a Quinnipiac University faculty opportunity. Practice Info Newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage at St. Vincent's Medical Center Support from neonatologists 24/7 No circumcisions Hospital averages over 1,000 deliveries annually Responsibilities Provide newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage Round on newborns Attend scheduled and emergent c-sections Manage photo therapy Provide occasional pediatric consults to the emergency department or hospital floors Stabilize newborns for transport Teach medical students through a faculty opportunity with Quinnipiac University Compensation Highly competitive compensation Salaried position Hire bonuses, incentive pay plans, loan repayment, administrative stipends, or relocation based on factors such as qualifications, location, and internal equity Benefits Generous 401(k) match Loan repayment support Generous paid time off Reimbursement for CME, professional society membership, licensure, and malpractice Shift & Schedule Full-time Six (6) weekday shifts and two (2) weekend shifts per four (4) week cycle Thirteen (13) cycles per year Each shift is twenty-four (24) hours For weekday shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital between 5:00PM - 10:00AM and available via phone between 10:00AM – 5:00PM For weekend shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital for the entire twenty-four (24) hour shift Qualifications A passion for providing patient-centered care to a pediatric patient population (ideal candidate) A willingness to work closely and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team (ideal candidate) An unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible) BC/BE in Pediatrics
