Welder/FitterA local welding and fabrication company is searching for a skilled Welder/Fitter to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the layout, fitting, fabrication, and welding of metal components according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Salary and Schedule:Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PMPay depends on experiencePotential for additional hours as neededResponsibilities:Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbolsLayout, measure, and mark metal stock to prepare for fabricationFit and assemble metal components using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick weldingPerform structural and pipe welding on various metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminumOperate welding equipment, torches, grinders, and other hand or power tools safely and effectivelyInspect and ensure welds meet quality standards and specificationsPerform basic maintenance of tools and equipmentCollaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to meet project goalsFollow company and OSHA safety policies and procedures at all timesAssist in other shop duties as neededRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required2+ years of welding/fitting experience in a fabrication or industrial environmentProficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processesAbility to read blueprints and understand weld symbolsStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periodsFamiliarity with shop math and measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a teamMust pass various types of welding tests
