Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: Emergency (ER) Tech Department: Emergency Location: Brighton Shifts: Part or full time, night shift, part time day shift. Position Purpose: The ER Tech, under the direction of a registered nurse,is responsible fordirect patient care considering age specific,developmental,culturaland spiritual needs. Theyassistinestablishingand maintaining a patient care environment that is clean,safeand conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care. REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE High school diploma or GED Minimum of one year ofpreviousdirect care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course. Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program. What you will do: Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The ER Techassistspatientin completing ADLsincluding:Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. An ER Tech will collect and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts andremovesperipheral IV catheters. They are responsibleto recordpatient information and required data inappropriate areasin order tomeet documentation requirements. Services include an award-winning 24-hour emergency department,inpatientand outpatient surgery, including joint replacement, a variety of diagnostic and outpatient services and over 300 physicians serving patients. Trinity Health Livingston Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is available24-hoursa day,365 daysa year to care for minor illnesses/injuries, as well as major life-threatening, traumatic,medicaland surgical problems.
