Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional care to medically complex hematology and oncology patients, focusing on the administration of blood products, antibiotics, and symptom management. Job Details Shift: 12-hour Day/Night Rotation Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Unit Information The unit consists of: 6S - 16 inpatient oncology beds 7S - 12 inpatient oncology beds, with a focus on hematology and bone marrow transplant Role Responsibilities Conduct head-to-toe assessments of patients Administer medications and blood products as required Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team Provide education and updates to patients and their families If trained, administer chemotherapy and participate in treatment planning Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in North Dakota or Compact state Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be AHA) Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250 beds) Experience in a busy level 1 trauma center is preferred EPIC electronic health record experience Willingness to float to all medical-surgical units as needed Travel nursing experience is highly preferred Training and Orientation New employees will undergo an orientation program consisting of: 8 hours of classroom training 24-36 hours of unit-specific training Patient Care Standards The nurse-to-patient ratio is: 1:3 for patients receiving chemotherapy or bone marrow transplant 1:4-5 for regular oncology patients 1:4-6 on nights Equipment Utilized EPIC electronic health record Philips Care Monitors Glucometers Bladder scanners Language line for communication assistance Zebra phone for internal communication If you are passionate about providing high-quality care to patients in an oncology setting, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
