Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, ensuring the store meets its goals and initiatives. This role demands a strong knowledge of all product areas, customer service excellence, and readiness to take supervisory control when the Store Manager is absent. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. Consult with the Store Manager to develop action plans for sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Take full responsibility for store operations during the Store Manager’s absence. Provide guidance and knowledge to employees and customers across all departments. Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to maintain profitability. Direct staff to meet departmental responsibilities and standards. Inform the Store Manager about inventory movement and customer trends. Ensure quality customer service at all times. Perform general administrative duties and uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards. Promote and sell services and merchandise to customers. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise employees when the Store Manager is absent. Conduct interviews, training, work planning, assignment, and problem resolution in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Qualifications Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel. 1–3 years of customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Capability to assist in managing a team and maintain focus on overall goals and profitability. Self‑starter with initiative and strong attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
