Family Engagement Specialist

Livingston HUB 317 W Church St Suite 106 Livingston, TX 77351, USA Serves as FGDM facilitator, including preparation, facilitation and follow up for family meetings in the program. Collaborates with staff and administration to create a process that encourages the identification of family strengths to resolve family issues and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for the involved children. Coordinates the receipt of referrals, orientation, and preparation of family members, connecting with community resources and setting up family conferences. Collaborates with family and stakeholder participants to determine an appropriate action plan. Trains and informs staff and community stakeholders in the FGDM model. Works with community and professional groups to coordinate, improve and strengthen knowledge between child welfare and external stakeholders. Prepares administrative reports to facilitate collection of data associated with the FGDM model to monitor performance outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations. Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among co-workers and all work-related contacts. Assists case managers in locating identified family members. Assists case mangers in looking through case records to identify family members. Essential Qualifications Credentials/Licensure: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance Clearances: State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation. Working Conditions Physical Demands: Requires vision, speech, and hearing and a moderate to high level of physical activity including; sitting, standing, walking lifting and carrying as required. Must be able to meet the demands and complete Crisis Intervention & Prevention (CIP). Working Hours: Flexible non-traditional office hours; variable schedule based on program need. Education Bachelors or better in Human Services or related field. Experience Two years of relevant experience in child welfare including knowledge of issues surrounding foster care, adoption, trauma, medical and developmental needs, and the importance of legal permanency are recommended as well as familiarity with state child welfare rules and procedures and the juvenile and/or probate court systems.
