Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Waco, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Mar 8, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Stepdown for a 30-bed progressive care unit, requiring 2+ years of experience with complex cardiovascular and respiratory patients.Details\n \n Work in a 30-bed stepdown/progressive care unit\n Floats between critical care service lines as needed\n Patient population includes HFNC, BIPAP, and stable GTT management cases\n Cares for post-op CABG/AVR/MVR patients (POD#1), AAA repair, lobectomy, and CEA patients\n Manages cardiovascular and vascular conditions including NSTEMI, STEMI, and ACS\n Treats patients with sepsis, GIB, post-DKA, respiratory failure, and tracheostomies\n Manages patients with pacemakers\n Scheduled shifts run 06:45-19:15\n 13-week assignment length\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (TX or Compact) required\n Current BLS certification through AHA\n Current ACLS certification through AHA\n NIH Stroke Scale certification required\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start\n Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start\n Must provide full SSN and DOB for consideration\n Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Two separate professional references required\n Completed skills checklist required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care for complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and post-surgical patients in a stepdown setting\n Radius rule applies which may affect pay rate eligibility for candidates living near the facility, with the radius distance varying by state\n Local candidates are accepted, though at a potentially reduced rate under the radius rule\n Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address\n COVID vaccination is not required\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-719726.
