Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary: The CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized surgical nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Responsible for ensuring patient safety, supporting the surgical team, and delivering quality perioperative care in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Prepare the operating room by arranging supplies, equipment, and medications essential for cardiovascular procedures.
• Support the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests, managing supplies, and assisting with patient positioning.
• Monitor patients throughout the perioperative phase, ensuring safety protocols and sterile techniques are maintained.
• Document all nursing care accurately and maintain detailed records of the surgical process and patient response.
• Facilitate patient transport to and from the OR, ensuring safety and proper handoff to post-operative care teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience, with CVOR background preferred.
• Valid Illinois RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, dynamic environment with a focus on patient safety.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills essential for supporting surgical operations.
