Job Type: Contract (No Benefits)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening/Night Shift
Schedule: 5×8-Hour Shifts
Shift Timings: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM or 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Local Candidates: Accepted
Travelers: Accepted
- Travelers: $1,100–$1,200 per week, based on experience
- Local Candidates: $24–$27 per hour, based on experience
We are seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians to support operations at a high-volume Level I Trauma Center. Candidates must have hands-on experience across all major areas of sterile processing and be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment handling complex surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and medical equipment, including drills, robotic surgical instruments, and scopes.
- Assemble and prepare surgical instrument sets across multiple service lines, including trauma instruments, loaner instruments, and peel-packed items.
- Perform sterilization procedures using Sterrad and steam sterilization systems.
- Conduct High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and process endoscopes and other scopes according to established protocols.
- Maintain sterile storage areas and ensure proper organization and inventory management.
- Provide operating room (OR) liaison support and coordinate with surgical teams to ensure timely instrument availability.
- Use the CensiTrac tracking system for instrument tracking, documentation, and inventory management.
- Float to other assigned healthcare facilities as needed.
- Proven experience in all major areas of sterile processing, including decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, and high-level disinfection.
- Previous experience in a Level I Trauma Center or a comparable high-volume healthcare facility is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict infection prevention and instrument-handling standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Candidates must hold at least one of the following certifications:
- CBSPD: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
- CRCST: Certified Registered Central Service Technician through HSPA.
