About the Role:

The Yard Attendant is responsible for maintaining the organization, safety, and operational flow of the equipment yard. This role ensures rental equipment and vehicles are stored properly, moved safely, and positioned for efficient access by rental, maintenance, and customer-facing teams. The Yard Attendant supports day-to-day operations by helping stage equipment, monitor yard conditions, assist with equipment movement, and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely move, park, and organize equipment and vehicles as directed.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices in an outdoor equipment yard environment.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, walking, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in rental, leasing, construction equipment, fleet, warehouse, or yard operations.
• Familiarity with equipment staging, basic inspections, and inventory organization.
• Experience operating small equipment or company vehicles in a yard setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain the yard area to ensure safe, efficient storage and movement of rental equipment and vehicles.
• Stage equipment for customer pickup, delivery, maintenance, cleaning, or return to rental-ready status.
• Assist with loading, unloading, parking, and repositioning equipment as needed.
• Perform basic visual checks of equipment and report damage, missing items, or safety concerns to the appropriate team.
• Support equipment flow between the yard, washbay, rental counter, and maintenance areas.
• Maintain clear access lanes, organized parking areas, and a clean yard free of unnecessary hazards.
• Follow all safety guidelines when working around vehicles, equipment, customers, and team members.
• Assist with inventory awareness by helping track equipment location and readiness status.

Skills:

The Yard Attendant should be organized, safety-focused, and able to manage equipment movement in a busy outdoor environment. Strong communication and teamwork help ensure rental assets are staged correctly and available when needed. Attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to follow direction are important for maintaining an efficient yard layout and supporting smooth rental operations.
