Job Summary

The Manager, Software Quality Assurance is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance function and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through effective testing strategies, quality methodologies, test automation initiatives, and continuous process improvement. This role partners closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, and business stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet functional, performance, security, reliability, and user experience expectations. Drives quality standards across the software development lifecycle and leads a team responsible for validating software releases in an Agile environment.

Essential Job Functions*

• Lead, develop, and manage a team of Software QA Engineers and Test Analysts.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce software quality assurance standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Oversee test planning, test case development, execution, and reporting activities across all phases of testing.
• Manage user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, system integration testing, and release validation efforts.
• Develop and execute quality assurance strategies that align with Agile software development methodologies.
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, reliability, and usability testing activities are incorporated into project plans.
• Drive test automation initiatives to improve software quality, test coverage, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to identify quality risks, root causes, and preventative measures.
• Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to validate requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor, analyze, and communicate software quality metrics, testing outcomes, trends, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Evaluate software releases and provide release readiness assessments and deployment recommendations.
• Ensure software defects are properly documented, prioritized, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Support release management activities, including review of release content, release notes, and end-user documentation.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance testing processes, product quality, and team effectiveness.
• Coach, mentor, and develop QA team members through training, performance management, and career development planning.
• Participate in software development planning, sprint activities, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
• Support organizational compliance requirements and software testing processes related to PCI and other applicable standards.
• Collaborate with technology leadership to evaluate and implement emerging quality assurance tools and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 5 years of Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of QA leadership or management experience required.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies required.
• Experience with test management tools such as TestRail and defect tracking tools such as Jira required.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks strongly preferred.
• Experience testing web, mobile, enterprise, and integrated systems preferred.
• Experience with hardware, kiosk, or robotics testing is a plus.

• Familiarity with performance, security, scalability, and reliability testing concepts.
• Ability to analyze quality metrics and use data to drive decision-making and process improvements.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
• Working knowledge of PCI compliance requirements and associated testing processes.
