Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Location

Morgantown, WV | Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays with some weekends | Extension possible

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit setting with varying acuity levels, including patients who may present as Progressive Care or Telemetry level in larger facilities
• Maintain typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 during emergencies
• Perform IV insertion and continuous telemetry monitoring , including the ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Participate in weekend scheduling as required; blocked weekend schedules (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) may be considered

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in West Virginia or a Compact state (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall; at least 1 year in Med/Surg or Telemetry and at least 2 years in a Stepdown setting
• BLS (BCLS) and ACLS certifications required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience, though not required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience managing patients with varying acuity levels across Progressive Care and Telemetry designations
