Director Of Nursing (DON) - RNThe DON - RN will support the successful execution of ML Healthcare's mission and Core Values by ensuring quality care through associate engagement, excellent clinical services and customer satisfaction within the community.Establish and direct the implementation of all written policies and procedures that reflect the goals, objectives and requirements of the Nursing department; ensure that all Nursing associates understand and follow established policies, procedures and systems.Work with corporate clinical team in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.Communicate changes in the Nurse Practice Act to nursing personnel & violations of the Nurse Practice Act to the State Board of Nurse Examiners.Ensure that Resident Rounds are completed daily; participate in daily rounds.Maintain the confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to ensure patient rights are protected.Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care management efforts.Ensure effective and adequate organization and staffing of the Nursing department.Ensure that nursing interventions meet the personal, physical and cognitive needs of each patient as well as maximize his/her self care capacities, identify, independence, choice and opportunity for social interaction.Monitor the outcomes of nursing service activity by evaluating the performance of nursing staff, ensure compliance with all community and regulatory agency standards, policies and procedures, coordinating community committees and monitor the effective and efficient use of budgeted resources (associates, supplies, equipment).Ensure that all applicable State and Federal employment laws and guidelines are followed by all Nursing department associates.Ensure that all Nursing department associates are appropriately oriented, onboarded and trained according to company policy and procedure.Develop and deliver training and in-service presentations.Discuss/implement plans of action to correct deficient areas identified on quality reviews.Oversight of all investigations regarding patients and Nursing department associates.Monitor and review patient incidents to identify possible legal issues and to identify patterns that may require preventive intervention.Ensure that nursing staff is educated and utilizes infection control practices that protect staff, patients and families.Ensure the resolution of complaints regarding the Nursing department or the community from patients, families or other responsible parties, medical staff volunteers and outside agencies affiliated with the community.Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.Valid State licensure as an RN.Three to Five (3-5) years of progressive management or supervisory experience in long-term care, acute care, restorative or geriatric nursing.DON Experience of 2-3 year highly regardedExperience with State and Federal SurveyProficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records - PCCWe are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
